Shiieet

Ha! Just when I praised Tensnake's orginality my friend Olli dropped me this:

Anyhow it's definitely better than most of the disco edits out there. And when we are talking about edits. Here's little preview of my next mix.

Get it right

When I got serato about a year ago I stopped buying new music on vinyl but have recently started to get back in to it. Tensnake must be the best original artist that I have heard in a while. Just got his new Coma Cat EP in post and while that A side cut is fresh as damn I think I like the b-side more and its track "Get it right".

On the road again

Here's a nice tune from spanish group called Barrabás. Really dig this type, darker style disco.

Get Silly

Me and my man, Olli N. will be rocking We Got Beef's Dance floor next thursday and every second thursday of the month from that on. I'm really exited about this one. My first own club was "kylmät tyypit, kuumat raidat" at porvoonkadun baari where I used to play boogie and rap from vinyl with no fee with my friend Katujen kuningas (King of the Streets!) so this is kind of going back to my roots. I'm also kind of bored with playing latest blog bangers so here I just try to concentrate on timeless and uplifting dance music (new and old). It would be great to bring a bit of Paradise garage's  and Loft's spirit to these evenings. I know these are big words, but lets give it a try anyway.

Today I have been ripping vinyl for the opening party so here's a little taster for you about what's "Get Silly" could sound. Oh. DJ PP will be also joining us at the DJ booth so you better be there.

Here's an electro funk track, that I found when we lived for a month in Berlin with my girlfriend last summer, from a shop called scratch records . Orginal vocal version is quite awful with all the P-funk style chipmunk voices that I'm bit allergic to, but here's an simple edit of the instrumental with more mixable intro and all the annoying bits cut out.

Is it all over my face?

Let's start the blog with a true classic:

DJ Anonymous and Top Billin crew used to spin this at their partys. Had to get my hands on the vinyl as soon as I discovered its Deeon's EP where the track is orginally from : Deeon doez disco. Here's vinyl rip for you to enjoy.

DJ Deeon - 2 B Free

One of the best disco house tracks there is. Of course you can nothing but win when you are sampling a iconic dance track as:

Loose Joints - Is it all over my face (Larry Levan remix)

DJ Sneak has also killer track that samples the same joint.

DJ Sneak - All over my face (08 version)
